Mr. Caldera joined Bourland, Wall & Wenzel as an associate in 2020. His practice is primarily focused on general civil litigation at the trial and appellate levels, including business and contract disputes, partition and adverse possession claims, and probate, trust, and fiduciary lawsuits, and encompasses alternative dispute resolution venues such as mediation and arbitration.
Prior to joining Bourland, Wall & Wenzel, Mr. Caldera grew up in a U.S. Navy family, moving from coast to coast every few years. He received two Bachelor of Arts degrees from Rice University in 2017 and subsequently received his law degree from the Texas Tech University School of Law in 2020, where he clerked for the Honorable Sam R. Cummings and served as an Articles Editor on the Texas Tech Law Review.
Outside of the office, Mr. Caldera enjoys spending time with family, reading, and playing the piano. He also serves as a song leader, teacher, and livestream operator at the North Beach Church of Christ.

Background Information
Experience
- Counsel for church in dispute related to complaints about turnover of board of directors and matters affecting church ministries. Obtained judicial dismissal of the case early in the pretrial process.
- Counsel for property management company in litigation regarding payment of liquidated damages to independent contractor under insurance repair contract. Obtained summary judgment whereby the judge agreed that no liquidated damages were owed and awarded property management company all attorneys’ fees.
- Counsel for former employees sued by former employer related to alleged theft of funds and similar matters. Obtained judicial abatement of the litigation due to unresolved outstanding matters. On appeal, defeated petition for writ of mandamus seeking overturn of abatement order.
- Counsel for business and business owner against former C-suite employee and related parties in dispute related to breach of promissory note and theft of business funds. Obtained final judgment whereby business and business owner received all relief requested, including all attorneys’ fees.
- Obtained adverse possession and partition relief for individual and corporate landowners as to several small tracts of land forgotten over time in Texas county deed records and parcels subject to record ownership by foreign nationals.
